Lab session rules

A quick, honest guide to how a lab session works — how long it runs, extending time, inactivity, and what is kept when it ends.
A lab session: start, work the tasks, an optional 30-minute extension, end
  1. StartMachines are ready in about a minute
  2. Work the tasksEach task is checked when you press Check
  3. +30 minOne extension where allowed
  4. EndMachine deleted, score and XP kept

1 Session length

A lab runs for its shown time, commonly 3 hours. Some labs differ; each lab page shows its own time.

2 Extend once

When time is nearly up you can usually extend once by +30 minutes, where the lab allows it.

3 Stay active

If you go quiet you will see a “still there?” warning. Idle cloud and VM sessions may be released to save resources; your scored progress is saved.

4 Clean finish

When a session ends the lab machine or cloud is deleted. Your scored progress and XP stay on your account.

5 One at a time

One running lab per learner. Starting a new lab ends the previous one.

6 No card needed

Free labs need only a free learner account, no card. A few cloud labs use INFOTICS’s own guarded sandbox; a lab that needs your own cloud account says so clearly.

7 Something broken?

Use “Report a problem” on the lab page and the team is notified.
