What is Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)?

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is a professional-level, 4-month instructor-led course that prepares you for the EX294 exam at INFOTICS Academy. Delivery: Live online / on campus. The fee is shared individually after you apply. Register your interest and we will tell you when the next intake opens.

RHCE turns a Linux administrator into an automation engineer. Instead of configuring servers one at a time, you describe the desired state in Ansible playbooks and apply it to hundreds of hosts consistently.

The program covers control-node setup, inventories, ad-hoc commands, playbooks, variables and facts, conditionals and loops, handlers, Jinja2 templates, roles and collections, Ansible Vault and system-administration automation for users, storage, networking, firewalld and SELinux. As in the real exam, most of your time is spent writing and debugging playbooks.

Updated outline: Red Hat is moving EX294 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 with Ansible Automation Platform 2.5 (course AU294 v10). This course teaches on RHEL 10 and ansible-core 2.16 with Ansible development tools, and your trainer covers any differences for the version you book.

Why is Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) worth it?

  • Most servers and cloud machines run Linux, so Linux skills are expected in server, cloud and DevOps roles.
  • Red Hat exams are performance-based: you pass by doing real tasks on a live system, not by answering multiple-choice questions, which is why employers trust them.
  • RHCE covers automation with Ansible, a tool DevOps teams use every day.
  • Exam voucher offer through INFOTICS: Up to 10% off the Red Hat certification exam + a free retake. INFOTICS reserves the right to change or end this offer at any time without prior notice. Please confirm the current offer with an advisor when you enroll.

What will you learn?

  • Install and configure an Ansible control node and manage inventories
  • Write idempotent playbooks using variables, facts, conditionals, loops and handlers
  • Use Jinja2 templates and filters to generate configuration files
  • Structure automation with roles and collections and consume Ansible Content Collections
  • Protect secrets with Ansible Vault
  • Automate system administration: users, storage, services, networking, security and software
